Come and See the New Monroe!

 As part of Mary Washington’s Homecoming Weekend, the Geography Department is hosting an Open House to show off our new facilities in Monroe Hall.

Please come by on October 22 between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.  We’ll serve light refreshments, play with the stream table, give a lesson in pollen analysis, and share student work and experiences from study abroad programs and GIS courses.

Afterwards, we’ll go down to the Capital Ale House on Caroline Street for drinks and conversation.

Monroe rededication & upcoming events

Monroe Hall was ‘rededicated’ on Friday, Sept 16 – dignitaries heard speeches in Palmieri Plaza, saw a large blue ribbon cut by President Hurley, and ate cake!  People toured the building and were duly impressed by our bright hallways, high-tech classrooms (two projectors & screens! screens for four ongoing presentations at the same time!), tall windows (light!) and a fourth floor where none previously existed. A Tale of Two Cemeteries: Part One
