Invitation to the Geography Banquet 2010!

By email, you probably received an invitation to the Geography Banquet 2010 – if you didn’t, you are invited anyway!

It will be held at Brock’s Riverside Grill on Sophia Street in downtown Fredericksburg, along the river near the railroad station. 6pm Wednesday April 7 is the event – there will be a buffet dinner with vegetation options. Symposium & Banquet: coming up soon!

The Geography Department has an annual symposium – where students give presentations based on the research they’ve done in classes, some oral (like a power point presentation) and some posters (less formal, at lunch time) – which will be held this year on April 7 in Annex A, room 112. Call for Nominations: Club Officers

At the March 18 2010 Geography Club Meeting/Tea we discussed the transition to a new set of club officers. We drew up a description for each position (attached as a page and posted below) and started to collect nominations for each position.  It would be great to have more students either nominate themselves or a friend so we can have a real election and a super-active club next year!

I haven’t posted in a while because, to be quite honest, it has been a difficult winter for Mary Washington Geography.  While our first blizzard was fun, and the second blizzard marked this as an unusual winter, the third had us running for the hills . . . almost literally.
