We’ve all heard about and often debated the merits of distance education.  Some of you have probably taken an online course.  But, at Mary Washington and other liberal arts colleges, where we value the immediacy of classroom interactions between faculty and students, many people wonder if the the technologies involved in distance education undermine that experience.
